The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) High Command has denied claims making the round on social media platforms that some seven serving soldiers had been contracted the terminal Coronavirus (Covid-19).

In a statement signed by Director Public Relation of GAF, Colonel E Aggrey-Quashie says the said allegation is falsehood, therefore the public must disregard it.

The statement said “We wish to inform the public that the story is false and should be disregarded.”

It continued by taking the opportunity to caution the individuals involved in publishing fake news to desist from the practice.

The GAF was of the opinion that “At this sensitive time in our national life, the collective effort of all and sundry, should be aimed at sensitising the public on preventive measures against Covid-19, and not the spread of false information.”
