Roar over T.D. Jakes’ comments on Akufo-Addo’s performance
Some sections of the Ghanaian public have expressed anger towards comments made by a popular American preacher that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was sturdily transforming their country.
In pastor T.D Jakes’ comment, he said:
Some time, was with amazement, the president of the republic of Ghana and the commander in chief of the Ghana armed forces, his Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo will speak on our international leadership summit this month and in case you’re not up to speed on how things are going in Africa, Ghana is one of Africa’s wealthiest countries.
He has completely turned it around; it is the largest producer of gold on the continent and the world’s second largest producer of cocoa.
Under President Akufo -Addo’s leadership, Ghana has emerged as the booming tech centre, even welcoming twitter is moving to Ghana. Africans corporate headquarters of twitter is going to be there.
President Akufo-Addo is also working to transform Ghana into key travel destinations particularly for African-Americans and the African Diaspora and aggressively promoting investment in the country.Over the last couple of years, Ghana’s government has set aside 500 acres of land for foreigners looking to re-settle there.
Now, Ghana’s move to embrace African-Americans has particular significance because some of the largest ports of slavery was from Ghana and some of them returned back home and some of the amenities that he’s extending is a step towards healing and restoration.
Imagine the prodigal son coming back home and the father running to meet him, welcoming him back home in his tremendous significance that he has done some amazing things in that regard over the last couple of years.
Ghana’s government has set aside 500 acres of land for foreign investors to resettle there, there are some other things but I won’t tell them because I think he wants to release them as a way of survey and registration fees for members of the African Diaspora, the government is also creating easier paths to citizenship for African-Americans.
We are thrilled and delighted to welcome President Akufo-Addo and several other esteemed leaders to the international leadership summit.
The man is brilliant, he’s just smart. I was watching and they interviewed him in Paris, and the guy was of course speaking to him in French and President Akufo-Addo speaks English quite fluently and several different languages fluently.
And so when the interviewer started speaking French to him, he turned and started speaking back to him in French, it speaks to his global ability
