Proactive Ghana lends a helping hand to Aflao Hospitals

A non-governmental organization (NGO), Proactive Ghana with support from Kpatsa and Associate and Anyako Farms has donated some wheelchairs to the Ketu South Municipal health directorate at Aflao in the Volta region, to assist in the delivery of quality health services to the people.

The Executive Director of Proactive Ghana, Lawyer Theophilus Dzimega Jnr handed over the wheelchairs to the Municipal health director, Joseph Kwami Degley on behalf of the Directorate last week.

Mr. Dzimega Jnr explained that the donation is part of the Proactive Ghana’s project of donating wheelchairs to a number of health facilities across the country and also to build a working relationship with those hospitals.

Mr. Dzimega alluded that the essence of the donation to Ketu South Municipal health directorate was to aid individuals within the municipality who have challenges with mobility.

Lawyer Dzimega added that the NGO has plans to undertake a number of activities in the area of Public Education on HIV/AIDS, Maternal and Child health care, and these requires collaboration with the Municipal health directorate.

He pointed out that although the Covid-19 has affected most activities of Proactive Ghana, it is taking advantage of what is happening now in order to reach out to vulnerable groups such as people living with disability and mental health issues.

The Ketu South Municipal health director, on his part, indicated that the donation could not have come at any better time, as the health facilities in the municipality needed more of the wheelchairs.

Mr. Degley thanked Proactive Ghana for the support, and hope that the new relationship with Proactive Ghana would bring more of such donations and a harmonious collaboration.

He said the donation will go a long way to make a difference in the lives of their clients and promised that the wheelchairs would be used for its intended purpose.

Also present at the meeting and the donation were Mr. Daniel Alimo, a team member of Proactive Ghana and a representative of WAAF, Mr. Ibrahim Kamara, an administrative officer of Proactive Ghana, Mr. Palmer Prince Dagadu, an administrative officer of Proactive Ghana and some staff of the Ketu South Municipal Health directorate including Mr. Charles Amanyoh, the heThe donation was received by the municipal health director and his team.

Prior to handing over the items, a brief meeting held between the organisations to discuss modalities and ways of working together, revealed that in other for the Health Directorate to render quality health services, it needed support.

The health directorate expressly agreed to partner with Proactive Ghana in all endeavors in ensuring that the aims and goals of both organizations are fully met.

The health director outlined some areas of concern with regards to assistance and partnership with Proactive Ghana, these areas include but not limited to Public Health Education, Testing and Counselling etc.
