It has emerged that the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has a first wife by name Ramatu Bawumia, who have been kept at the blindside of the public.
Whether deliberate or unintentional, her name was mentioned as the new Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumani Kingsford Bagbin, was acknowledging some personalities that graced the inauguration of the second term of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
This has generated heat debate on social media, as the only wife always portrayed to the public has been Samira Bawumia .
Critics say it was unfair on the part of the Vice President to keep the first wife on a low profile while putting the youngest one ahead to be enjoying all the glamour and privileges from the public.
Mrs Ramatu was said to have make first public appearance at the swearing in of the President and her husband at the forecourt of the Parliament Thursday.
Per the Islamic practice, men are obliged to marry at least four women, on the condition that they can all be treated loved and treated equally.
