Mayera-Faase residents spray Chief with human excrete
Some residents of Mayera-Faase in the Greater Accra Region are said to have sprayed the chief of the area, Nii Kwame Ankrah’s residence with human excreta to neutralise his supposed demonic powers.
The residents in a group of 11 or so were led by 60 year old driver Emmanuel Obeng Addo to attack the chief.
According to the brief facts presented by the prosecutor Chief Inspector Gulliver Tenkorang, the accused person and his accomplices, currently at large, did not only attacked the chief with human excreta but also with other objects.
He told the Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs Susana Ekuful that on April 11, 2021 at about 7:00 pm, the accused person led a thug to attack the complainant at his residence with stones, sticks and other implements.
Chief Inspector Tenkorang indicated the thugs attacked the chief on the suspicion that he together with two others had performed rituals at the Stool House as well as his residence with hope to cast evil spell on the community.
“The accused [person] and his accomplices angrily threw the stones and sticks on the roof and into the porch of the complainant’s house. They also caused damages to the electricity bulbs in the Stool House, which was close to the complainant’s residence as well as issuing life threatening words,” the prosecutor added.
He said Addo and another called Okanta unsatisfied with their actions, proceeded to the community public toilet to fetch large quantity of human excreta pour it all over the complainant’s residence, with the believe of neutralizing the powers of the alleged spiritual purification activity carried out by the chief.
“That, notwithstanding, accused without any provocation went ahead to cut down a mango tree which provided shade for the community members to relax and also play games during their leisure time, just to exhibit how angry he was with the complainant,” he stated.
The chief lodged a complaint with the Police and the accused person was arrested.
The group that joined Addo to perpetrate the alleged crime had taken to their heels, leaving him to his fate.
The court, however, granted Addo bail in a sum of GH¢80,000.00 with four sureties.
