Man assaulted for suspected teenager molestation

Ebenezer Kwaku Boateng, 44 years old, is alleged to have been assaulted by residents of Ablekuma Block Factory, a suburb of Accra, on the suspicion of making sexual advances on a 14-year old teenage boy.

The allegation, which spread like wild, had the residents to seek instant justice, by subjecting the 44 year-year to a very severe beatings.

Ablekuma, an area notoriously known for mob actions, residents allegedly beat the suspect to pulp without the recourse to the law.

A close friend of the suspect who spoke to the Anyazia.com said the Ebenezer is currently suffering from mental and emotional breakdown.

When asked why assault had not been reported to the police, Anyazia.com on the condition of anonymity, said Ebenezer was afraid to report the matter to the law enforcement agency, due to the strong culture disposition of the country against the LGBTQ+ community.

However, they want the message to go down to the last person in Ghana that mob justice is harmful and deprivation of human rights and dignity.

They also fear the coming into being LGBTQ law might exacerbate the attacks on the community, hence wants every life to matter to the government and protected.
