Kwesimintsim MP mother goes home
The Member for Parliament Kwesimintsim, Dr. Prince Zubairu Hamid Armah’s mother, Madam Philomena Naa Hammond aka Auntie Naa, has joined her ancestors.
Her burial and memorial rites were held on last Saturday, 25th February 2023, at the Forecourt of the Church of Pentecost, Anaji, in Kwesimintsim -Takoradi in the Western region.
Auntie Naa married Abdul Hamid Yakubu (late) and together they were blessed five children, Dr. Hamid, an MP, Reverend Lisa Armah-Dankyi, entrepreneur and founder of Loyal Life Chapel, Irene Armah, a businesswoman, Abigail Armah, a nurse, and Emmanuel Armah, a student.

The deceased is one of the luckiest women to blessed to see five of her grandchildren.
Her chief mourners were Ebusuapeyin Kofi Mpata Silva, Opanyin Papa Know Mensah, Okyeame Kweku Gyan, Mbrantsehen Kofi Annan, Obaatan Kweku Sofo, Obaahema Naa Otuba I, Obaahema Nana Amamoah II (Madam Jemima Crentsil), Opanyin Kwame Amfua (Mr. Samuel Quaison-Sackey), Dwantowahene Odeneho Annorkuma Blay III (Lower Dixcove), Opanyin Kofi Acquah, Opanyin Papa Kyikyibi, Nenyi Kojo Mbir, and Papa Owusu.
Although Auntie Naa was born and Winneba, lived a greater part of her life in Kwesimintsim. She was a businesswoman, trading in a wide range of merchandise – boutique, stationery, Mothercare, and hardware.
Auntie Naa was accorded a devout Christian and one of the most generous souls to depart from the living.
It was said in her biography that one of the things her family will forever remember her for is her love for fashion, education, and supporting the needy in the community even as a widow.
The burial and memorial service were attended by government officials such as Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Majority leader in Parliament, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Chief of Staff, J Matthew Oopoku Prempeh, Minister for Energy, Joe Ghartey, MP, Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister for Housing and MP, Lydia Syram Alhassan, MP, Alhassan Tampuli Suleman, MP, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western regional minister and Ambrose Dery, Interior Minister.
