Gyakye Quayson fails to appear in court
An attempt to drag the embattled Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency, James Gyakye Quayson to the Supreme Court by Michael Ankomah-Nimfah has for the second time failed.
The applicant represented by Frank Davis Esq told the court that two attempts to serve the summons on Mr Gyakye Quayson proved futile.
However, the court registrar told the Seven panel members presided over by His Lordship Jones Dotse that the bailiff was assaulted in an attempt to serve to MP at his office at Parliament.
He said the MP’ ordered his bodyguard to throw the bailiff out, as he is will not allow any service made on him.
Consequently, another attempt to serve the respondent at his residence at the constituency through the Assin North High Court also failed on an excuse by the caretaker that Mr Gyakye Quayson had travelled to Accra and doesn’t know when he will be returning.
The court has, however, ordered registrar to make a formal complain to the Chief Justice for further action.
Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, representing the respondent, indicated that the legislature could not attend court, since he was attending parliamentary business.
Mr Gyakye Quayson is being challenged by the applicant at the Apex for continuously holding himself as legislature after a Cape Coast High Court had quashed.
Mr Gyakye Quayson legitimacy came into question, due to his dual citizenship.
