#Fixthecountry demo hits Accra to mount pressure on gov’t

Ghanaian youth hoping that the system improved then it is now, today took to the streets of Accra to register their displeasure.

The demonstrators blamed the 1992 Construction to be one of the causes of the country’s woes.

According to the convenyers of the #fixthecountry, the 1992 Constitution has fuelled the suffering of the youth and has created a room for few to take advantage of the system.

To enforce, the convenyers have vowed to collect 1 million signatures to ensure there was a change in the constitution to reflect the development desires of the country.

The 1992 Constitution was described as Article 71 holders and Ex-gratia statute that deprive opportunity.

The demonstrators decried poor health, education, infrastructure, agriculture, economic and social systems.

These, they said had contributed to the stunt growth, joblessness of the youth and high living standard.

Some messages the demonstrators put across “when the poor run out food they eat the politicians, ” “suffering in the land of our birth,” “we need leaders who can bring change,” “create jobs and not military base,” among many others.

One of the conveyers, Caption Smart added that leaders past and gone have used the system to enrich their families while the citizens impoverishment worsened.
