What was supposed to be fun had end up in sorrow for a driver on Christmas Day, after dawn drinking experience.

The driver, Bernard Kofi, started his Christmas Day celebration with one of the weirdest gifty from a hairdresser, a 30 -year old hairdress, Dennis Adjei Adjequaye.

Thus, the hairdresser gave the driver head knock that led to the latter losing two teeth at the lower jaw.

The incident happened after duo and another had drinks at about 2:00am on last year’s Christmas Day.

Although Bernard went to the drinking spot alone, Dennis and the third person joined him and requested for a drink.

Under the influence of the season, Bernard bought the duo Alomo bitters two suckets even though he did not know them from Adam.

But event turned sour, after Bernard attempted exiting the drinking spot. The two returned his favour with attacking him with a kitchen knife, in an attempt to rob him off his money.

Bernard also proved his mettle by resisting the attack, for which Dennis allegedly gave him a heading on his mouth to force two of his teeth to fallout.

Dennis Adjei is now before an Accra Circuit Court, presided over by Ellen Offei-Ayah, on the charge of causing harm.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢80,000.00 with three gainful employment sureties, and one to be justified.

The Prosecuting Officer Inspector Daniel Ofori-Appiah, presenting the facts of the case to the court,  said Bernard, complaianant, and Dennis, accused, are both resident of Teshie in the Greater Accra region.

According to Ins Ofori-Appiah, on December 25, 2022 at about 2:00am, the complainant while working went to Paradies drinking spot at Teshie to buy some drinks.While having a time at the drinking spot the accused and another approached him and asked him to buy them some of drink, which he obliged.

The court was told that the complainant bought the accused and his accomplice Alomo bitters a sachet each since it was a festive season but did not know them.

When the complainant was about leaving the drinking spot, the accused and his accomplice suddenly order him to hand over all his maney to them which the complainant refused.

The accused then pulled a kitchen knife from the front pocket of his trouser to overpower the resistance of the complainant but latter resisted and struggle wth him.

In the process the accused headed the mouth of the complainant and as a result, the complainant had two of his teeth – central incisor and lateral incisor – of his lower jaw removed.

The complainant reported the matter to the police and he was issued with a medical form of which he returned the same fully endorsed by a medical officer at LEKMA hospital.

On February 6,  2023, the accused was arrested and in his cautioned statement admitted having fought with the complainant on that faithful day but did not know that the complainant was injured in the process.
