Chantel Nunekpeku’s judgement slated for October 13
Judgement on an appeal made by a beautician who was sentenced one year into prison for sharing ‘fake’ nude pictures on social media of a rival, comes off this October 13.
The Criminal Divisional of the Accra High Court presided over by Justice Mrs Merlyn Wood made said this at the last seating.
The beautician is one Chantel Nunekpeku was sentenced by an Accra Circuit Court in 2018 after changing her pleading from not guilty to guilty.
Chantel’s sentenced was as a result of photo-shopping the head of her boyfriend’s former girlfriend onto another person’s naked picture and sharing same on social media.
The beautician’s boyfriend, Kayode Kalode, a music producer, was the ex-lover of the complainant in the matter, Destina Tata whose picture was photo-shopped onto another person’s nude body.
Chantel and Kalode were accused of photo-shopping Tata’s photos and distributing same on social media. Chantel and Kalode were tried for causing the complainant emotional and psychological trauma, thereby undermining her privacy, dignity, integrity and her worth as human being.
The beautician’s boyfriend, however, maintained his plea as not guilty and was admitted to bail in the sum of GH₵10,000.00.
