The Financial and Economic Division of the Accra High Court, presided over by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe has urged the Attorney General’s office to expedite the process to extradite or try Christine Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu in absentia.

Mrs Tamakloe is the immediate past Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), and has been on trial with the Center’s Operations manager, Daniel Axim for various financial malfeasance amounting to GH¢129.5 million.

The charges that the duo are facing include conspiracy to steal, stealing and unauthorised commitment.

Meanwhile, Mrs Tamakloe had been out of the jurisdiction since October on health excuse and had not return for the trial to continue.

This, the Senior State Attorney Hilda Craig complained to court and Her ladyship held yesterday that the prosecution team should stop complaining and rather take action.

“Stop talking and act. By law you can wait, put due processes in place, extradite her and try her in absentia,” Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe suggests.

Ms Hilda Craig responded that “we are on it”
Court: We have not seen it.

The case has been adjourned to February 23, 2022
