Founder of defunct Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah alias Nam1 defence counsel Alexander Owusu Junior has pleaded with the trial court to strike out the case if the prosecution continue to delay the trial.

Mr Owusu Junior told the court that a trial must be conducted within a reason time but the manner, in which Nam1 case is being dragged was causing the case to over delay.

He urged that if the prosecution on the next adjourned continue to give excuses then the court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah should consider striking out the case.

This was as the prospecting Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sylvester Asare had pleaded with the court to afford them more time to complete with their investigations.

Nam1 is being tried for defrauding 16,000 people of GH¢1.68 billion.

The case has been adjourned to April 10, 2022.
