Security operative in police custody over Ablekuma Central shooting

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a National Security personnel at the Office of the President into week police custody for allegedly firing gun to wound three persons including a police officer, journalist and National Democratic Congress (NDC) sympathizer.
Collins Kwaaku was alleged to have fire gun indiscriminately at these individuals at the Ablekuma Central constituency collation centre.
According to a brief fact read by prosecutor Inspector Eric Pobee, Collins during interrogation told police investigators that he was compelled to fire gun at these persons because he saw someone removing a teaser.
His lawyer Fizial Cissie pleaded with the presiding magistrate, His Honour Mr Emmanuel Essandoh to grant him bail, as his client is also a victim of the incident.
He explained that Collins suffered a blow of cement black and currently receiving treatment at the Korle Teaching Hospital, hence the court should consider and grant him bail.
Mr Essandoh, however, refused the bail, saying the victims of his alleged action are still on admission at the hospital, therefore, the accused person must remained in police custody.
The victims who suffered the gunshots are Pius Asiedu, Rashid Osman and Nickson Awuni.
