The Supreme Court has overturned a bench warrant order by an Accra High court for the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Adama Latse II to be summoned before it.

According to the Apex Court, the lower court has no jurisdiction over chieftaincy matters and also that the order was at a time when King Tackie Adama Latse II had submitted medical reports to it that he was indisposed.

His council, Bright Akwetey told the five-penal member that despite informing the court about the health condition of his client, it went ahead to issue a bench warrant against him.

He alleged that the plaintiff who brought the law suit against the Ga Mantse, to challenge his legitimacy is no longer part of the living.

The parties challenging the legitimacy of Nii Tackie Adama Latse II did not present them before the Superior court when it made the decision yesterday, May 19, 2020.
