Prof Benneh murder: Court to be told what killed James Nana Wamba

A Kaneshie District Court has been told that prosecution is waiting for autopsy report of what killed James Nana Wamba, a lead suspect in the alleged murder of Prof Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, a University of Ghana, Legon, Law School Professor.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okuffo briefing the court presided over by Her Honour Mrs Ama Adumako Kwashie said the 26-year old James Wamba was taken ill on October 15, 2020 to the Police Hospital and was treated and discharged on the same day.
However, he said the first accused person (A1) in the horrific murder of the law professor, sickness relapsed on October 16 and was again rushed to the Police Hospital.
Nevertheless, James Nana Wamba could not make on October 17, 2020.
Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okkufo today informed the court that an autopsy is being conducted on the mortal remains of the 26-year old by Chief Superintendent Owusu Afriyie.
The prosecutor also informed the court that the second accused person, Opambour Agyei Badu Nkansah, in the trial is also on hospital admission and pleaded with the court to adjourned the case in order to enable the late Wamba’s accomplice recover.
On the same matter, the prosecutor brought a new suspect, Ebenezer Kweyisie, who has been identified as an accomplice of the late Wamba and Opambour.
Inspector Teye-Okuffo pleaded with the court to equally adjourn the case so as the charged sheet are consolidated.
The court heard the prosecution plea and adjourned sitting to November 9, 202p.
Background
Prof Yaw Benneh was killed in his Adjiringanor home in a grand style. His hands were tied to the back and a piece of cloth pushed into the mouth.
His body was found almost three days after the hideous crime was committed.
