The then Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr Stephen Kwabena Opuni has applied for subpeanaes to be issued to five persons, including his personal banker and a Scientist.

These personalities to be subpeanaed to the court are Reginald Adukwa, his personal banker and formerly with the ECOBank, and Dr Anim Kwarpong, the Executive Director of Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) in 2015/16 and 2016/2017 cocoa seasons.

The others are Samuel Amponsah who was the Acting Head of Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED), Peter Okyere Boateng, the Deputy Executive Director of CHED in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation and Arthur Kwasi, a farmer at Bono.

Counsel for Dr Opuni, Samuel Codjoe made the oral application for yesterday at the court presided over by Justice Clemence Honyenuga, a Supreme Court Judge with an additional responsibility of the High Court.

According to Mr Cudjoe, each of personalities mentioned could assist with the trial of his client who is standing trial with Seidu Agongo and his company Agricult Ghana Limited.
