The Ga Dzasetse Nii Yaote Oto Ga II has accused the leadership of the National House of Chiefs (NHC) of using mafia tactics to expunge the name of Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II from its register.

According to him, the NHC under the influence of some persons in the government has mysteriously removed the overlord of the Ga state from its books and replaced it with someone who is alien to the stool.

Addressing a press conference in Accra on Thursday, he said interferences in Ga Chieftaincy issues are uncalled for “to say the least, [as] this development is shocking to the Dzase, since the whole process is fraudulent and against the rule of law and natural justice.”

He alleged that the mafia game played by the NHC was that in somewhere October 2020, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II was elected by the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs as one of its five representatives to the National House of Chiefs, and his induction to the NHC was fixed for November 12, 2020.

However, on November 10, 2020, a certain Nii Tetteh Ashong V caused an application for prohibition to be filed against Nii Ga, restraining his induction into the National House of Chiefs.

Interestingly, he said when the case was sent to the Kumasi High Court, a ruling was given to the effect an appropriate body or institution should determine who the legitimate occupant of the Ga Stool is before the induction is conducted.

To his shock, the National House of Chiefs purportedly interpreted the said ruling, as taking unlawful and unjustifiably action against Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II by expunging his name from the register.

“Not satisfied with the decision, Nii Ga caused a letter of objection dated April 26, 2021, to be written to the National House of Chiefs giving them up to May 6, 2021, to re-enter his name in the National Register of Chiefs but the National House of Chiefs failed or refused to do so.

“This compelled Nii Ga to take an instant action of Mandamus at the High Court, Kumasi the matter is ongoing,” he stated. “Nii Ga’s the attention was drawn to fervent steps being taken to enter the name of Kelvin Tackie into the Register.”

He said several letters written to the president of NHC enquiring how that decision was arrived at had resulted futile.

As this beats his imagination, he asks “the question then to ask is why Kelvin Tackie should be imposed on Gamei (Gas) at all cost as Ga Mantse, and why should State Institutions be used to effect this imposition?”

Ga Dzasetse gives a stern warning to persons who have assigned themselves roles as spokesperson to just create confusion in Ga to stay off and bow their heads in shame.

He warned government officials who had turn king-making giants to be guided and not to lead Ga people into conflict.
