MTN supports Eid-ul-Fitr celebration in A/R
The items included a eam,ren bags of rice, three boxes of cooking oil, 20 cartons of bottled water and 15 cartons of soft drinks.
Mr. Simon Amoh, a Senior Manager of MTN General Trade, Northern Sector, made the presentation on Monday, 8th April 2024, on the premises of Kumasi Central Mosque, where the items were received by the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Moomen Haroun.
Mr. Amoh, who was accompanied by Mrs. Charity Darko, the corporate Manageress of MTN Northern Business Sector and other MTN officials, commended the Regional Chief Imam and the entire Muslim community for fasting and praying for Ghanaians towards peaceful coexistence among the citizenry.
According to him, MTN’s annual donation is aimed at renewing the relationship between the company and the Muslim community.
Mr. Amoh expressed MTN’s commitment to support the Muslim community at all time, adding that,a similar donation was being made in other parts of the country.According to him, MTN was excited to support Muslims after having several days of fasting and prayers.
Sheikh Abdul Haroun, the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, also commended MTN Ghana for its annual donation in support of the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
He stated that, the Muslims Community is being honored for their inclusivity of MTN in their programmes and projects, and advised Muslims, especially the youth, to comport themselves during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
The Regional Chief Imam also seized the opportunity to caution Ghanaians against all acts which have the tendency to disturb the peace in the country before, during and after the 2024 general election.
