The ceremony, held at the school premises in Aburi, marked the culmination of MTN Ghana’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure under the theme “Education for Rural and Remote Communities, Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow.”

The newly installed facilities include a state-of-the-art containerized computer lab, a digital borehole, a smart farm, and upgraded washrooms. These enhancements are designed to bolster educational resources and living conditions for students and staff alike.

Mr. Stephen Blewett, CEO of MTN Ghana, highlighted the initiative’s significance in preparing students for future opportunities. “The theme of this year’s Y’ello Care underscores our commitment to ensuring our educational system equips students with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital age,” he remarked during the closing ceremony.

He emphasized that the new ICT lab, digital borehole, and smart farm provide students with practical exposure to technology and sustainability practices.

MTN Y’ello Care is an annual program within the MTN Group, aimed at empowering communities through employee volunteerism. Originating in 2007, the initiative has positively impacted millions of individuals across Africa. This year, in celebration of MTN’s 30th Anniversary, the program extended from its usual 21 days to 30 days of dedicated community service.

The inauguration of these facilities at Aburi Presbyterian Secondary Technical School not only marks a milestone for MTN Ghana but also promises a brighter future for the students of Aburi and beyond, as they continue to learn and lead in the digital era.
