Man hauled before court for insulting Akufo-Addo

A Ga man has been hauled before an Accra Circuit Court for using swear words on President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.

The accused, Raphael Okoe Ankrah aka Okoe Killer, aged 40 years and a tiller, allegedly cursed everything of the President including his parents.

He was, therefore, charged with offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace. The accused pleaded not guilty and was remanded into custody.

Prior to remanding the accused, the court held that the act of insulting the president openly was not a good practice.

FACTS:

The details of the case was presented by ASP Maxwell Oppong that the accused person Raphael Okoe Ankrah @ Okoe Killer is a Tiller and resides at James Town.

On May 15, 2023, the Police intercepted a Viral video, in which the accused person was seen in the video insulting the President of the Republic Nana Akufo Addo that his father, they would show him, his mother’s “V” to the annoyance of the general public.

The video has cost agitation among the public and based on that the Police Intelligence Directorate tracked the accused and arrested him at his hide out at James Town, Accra.

The accused person admitted the offence in his investigation caution statement and was accordingly charged with the offence and brought before court
