Jealous girlfriend stabs rival with a pair of scissors

Priscilla Ayi, a 31-year old shoe maker, allegedly  stabbed Adelaide Afe-Agoda, a beautician, after finding her with her boyfriend indoors.

Priscilla initially threatened the beautician before executing the premeditated action two days later.
The female shoe burglar has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢20,000 with two sureties who are citizens.

The accused was put before the Accra Circuit Court, presided over Samuel Bright Acquah, on Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Daniel Danku, prosecuting the case, told the court the victim, Adelaide is the complainant in the case.

According to him, the complainant and accused live at Shukura and Korle – Bu respectively.

He said on September 2, 2023, at about 10:00pm, the complainant visited her boyfriend at Town Counsel Line and while they were indoors, the accused suddenly barged in and started to insult them.

It was alleged that the complainant began walking out of the room quietly but the accused followed her with the insults and then threatened her to wit, “I will surely stab you with a pair of scissors anywhere I meet you, I will come to your shop and stab you.”

The complainant left the scene and reported the case to the Shukura Police. When the accused as contacted on her phone and invited to report to the police station, she refused and went into hiding.

On September 4, at about 8:00am, the accused concealed a shoe makers’ pair of scissors in her dress and attacked the complainant at her shop at Tesano. 

The accused stabbed the complainant’s forehead with the scissors and also inflicted wounds on her left middle, ring and little fingers with the same tool. 

The complainant shouted for help and was rescued by passers-by. The pair of scissors was dispossessed from the accused and handed over to the Police as an exhibit.

Priscilla Accused was later arrested and she admitted the offences in her investigation caution statement. After investigations, the accused was charged with the offences and arraigned before the honourable court. In a related department, the court similarly granted Rev. Joseph Osabutey Aguedze bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 for causing unlawful damage to the property of one Edwin Kofi Okyere Darko.

According to the prosecutor, Rev. Aguedze went to the Mr. Darko’s land that e purchased in 2000 from one Nii Foster at Nsakina to pull down the fence wall on October 10, 2023.

Mr. Darko reported the matter to the police and the accused was invited he refused to honour the aal failed attempts to arrest the accused, the prosecution secured a Criminal Summons to served on him to appear in court.
