A recent award scheme organised by the Millennium Excellent Foundation has ruffled feathers in the Greater Accra region.

The foundation, which held the award ceremony in Kumasi in the Ashanti region and had a person like Kelvin Tackie alias Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II being acknowledged as the Ga Mantse.

This has occasioned the opening of fresh wounds and blown dry winds into the ever-ending chieftaincy dispute in the Accra region.

According to a release dated August 2021 and issued by the Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse, Nii Yaote Oto Ga, the development was rather unfortunate, since the action taken by the Foundation would not augur well for the peace of the region that hosts the country’s capital.

He indicated that the said Kelvin was not a chief, therefore, that decision to acknowledge him as such was an error, improper and unacceptable.

Nii Yaote Oto Ga stated that the only Ga Paramount Chief or Mantse is Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II and apart from him, any other person who presents himself as such is nothing but an imposter.

“We state further that, the Millennium Excellence Foundation is a noble institution and should stay clear from chieftaincy matters, because at the time of event Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, Ga Mantse,” he added.

He went on to state that if not anything at all, Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II is the serving Governor of the Foundation, therefore, it is misery and an insult to see this Kelvin Tackie been invited in the capacity of Ga Mantse.

“We also, call on Justice Julia Naa -Yarley Sarkodie Mensah, a judge and diplomat justice -reform specialist to stay clear off the Ga Paramountcy Affairs,” he stressed.

The Ga Dzasetse also smouldered at the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Adumuah Bossman, a Council of State Member, Nii Adjuri Blankson, and the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey for accepting to attend the said Kelvin who carries himself as Ga Mantse birthday party and recognising him as such.
