Singer, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist, Diamond Nannah Appiah, has been rearrested by police after a criminal case brought up against was withdrawn.

Diamond’s rearrested was occasioned by a spectacular drama by her lawyer attempting to prevent police from arresting her.

Appiah was discharged by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Isaac Addo today, following a process filed by the Attorney-General (A-G).

Diamond counsel and the court warrant officer (CWO) struggled over the woman known as the boss lady while existing the court.

Her counsel said Diamond drove herself to the court, hence she should be allowed to report to the police in the same manner.

The police prosecution led by DSP Evans Kesse also insisted that the counsel cannot decide for the police in what mode the suspect should be arrest.

The arrest also resulted in a heated exchanges between the lawyer and the prosecution.Diamond was charged for defrauding Ayisha Modi, a Businesswoman, off US$30,000.00.

Diamond allegedly collected the said money under the pretence of selling Ayisha Modi a piece of land at East Airport Hills.

Diamond counsel pleaded with the court to make an order that his client should not be rearrested after her discharge.He further complain about how unfortunate it was for the A-G to be misapplying the law.

The counsel referred to the legal action against his client as incompetent and bogus, “if this how the law is applied then I don’t know where we are going with the law.”He also urged the court to overlook the process filed by the A-G to consider the business of the day, which was delivering of a ruling.

It is not clear on what charge Diamond was rearrested.
