Dankyira Obusia is a horrible & cursed village – Mahama’s mother
The family of late Major Maxwell Mahama, particularly his mother, has reject a proposal by residents of Dankyira Obuasi to name a street after their son.
She called Dankyira Obuasi in the Central region, a horrible village and cursed that the it becomes deserted and never peaceful.
Furthermore, none of the 12 convicts sentence life imprisonment ever get presidential pardon or the blood of his son will be on the head if any government that grants them parole
Madam Veronica Bamford said the manner in which his died was horrible, therefore, would not want his name to be associated with the town.
According to her, the excruciating pain and psychological trauma that the family had suffered, therefore, no matter the number of streets in the town are named after their son would appeased them.
She said this while meeting with the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Same, his deputy and members of the prosecution.
Madam Bamford added that she has a mental breakdown because of how her son was lynched to death and psychological even made it a taboo that Maxwell’s names was mentioned around her.
The grieving mother complained about the bad state of his son grave.
She also clarified that the promotion of his son’s rank from Captain to Major was to an appeasement but a rank he worked for before his untimely passing.
Madam Veronica was grateful that despite Maj Mahama having a gun on him, he did not use it on the mob and proud to say that “my son dis not have anybody’s blood on his hands.”
The A-G and Minister for Justice Godfrey Yeboah Dame console with the family and stated that the case will bring about a dramatic change in Ghana’s justice administration.
