COCOBOD signs  $1.3b syndicated loan for 2020/2021 Cocoa Season

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has signed a loan agreement with a total of 28 banks including four local banks – absa, Stanbic, Societie General and Eco bank.

The interest of the loan, which is to be paid within a year is pegged at 1.5%.

The amount would be used in the purchase of 900,000 metric tonnes of cocoa bean for the 2020/2021 cocoa crop season.

The Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD Joseph Aidoo assured stakeholders the amount secured will be used for the purpose it was meant for.
