Celebrate Homowo in calmness & Covid-19 protocols observation – Ga Mantse advises
As the people of Accra mark the celebration of the annual festival, Homowo today, August 14, 2021, there are few rules to be observed, according to the Ga Mantse Boni Nii Tackie Adama Latse II.
The Ga Mantse urged his subjects to celebrate the festival peacefully with strict observation of the Covid-19 protocols.
In a release issued and signed by the Ga Paramount Stool Dzasetse, Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II, said the Ga Mantse and the Ga Dzase extended their best wishes and felicitations to the Mantseme, Wulome (priest), Manyemei (queens), the good people of Ga Dangme and all sundry.
“It is the wish of Nii Ga that, the Homowo will be celebrated in a peaceful and joyful manner devoid of any acrimony to usher us a new calendar year for the Ga Dangme people.
“He admonished all that, in view of the COVID 19 pandemic and the recent high rise of the third wave, the celebrations should be on a low key with strict observance of the protocols as outlined by the Government,” it sid.
The release further added that the Ga Mantse has also appealed to Niimei, Wulomei, Naamei and Woyce to use the occasion to reflect and take stock of happenings during the Nmaadumo and Nmaafaa as indications are that, our ancestors and the gods are not enthused with developments in the Ga State.
