Aisha Huang trial: witness has no locus to testify against me
En Huang alias Aisha Huang has told an Accra High Court that the Divisional Chief of Asante Akyem Ntototoe, Nana Sarfo Prempeh has nominated to testify against her, simply to avoid her fate.
She said Nana Sarfo is testifying for the state because he was recently arrested for engaging in illegal mining, abetment of crime and tax evasion.
The embattled Chinese national added that Nana Sarfo together with his manager for Volga Resources were under investigation, hence the reason for his nomination to testify in court in order save himself.
Speaking through her counsel, Miracle Attachey, the Chinese national who have gained popularity in the public space as notorious galamsey queen, Galamsey kingpin among many other nicknames, said Nana Sarfo does not have permit to substantiate his over a mining concession that cover five communities in the Ashanti region.
She said this, while Mr Attachey was subjecting Nana Sarfo, Attorney-General’s third prosecution witness (PW3), to cross-examination.
Mr Attachey, while attacking the credibility and integrity of the witness, told the court that Nana Sarfo’s mining licence had expired.
He added that the witness has no proof that he had ever met Aisha Huang in person or dealings in mining equipment suchlike excavators or reported to law enforcement authority.
But the witness in response said he was never arrested but was only invited for questioning about that the security agency misconstrued about him.
He said his appearance before the security investigation body rather threw more lights on the havoc that had been caused by the accused, En Huang.
